Italian painter (Berlin 1895 – Saint-Tropez 1971); self-taught, he began to paint in Paris in 1919. He fashioned a subtly evocative and precious way of sought ingenuity, fusing various archaeological motifs (Cretans, Etruscans, etc.) presented as archetypes of a fresh vision rooted in childhood memories.

He also performed extensive wall decorations (Geneva, League of Nations, Padua, University) and floor mosaics (Rome, Metropolitan cinema) and his graphic work is noteworthy. He published his autobiography: Scrupoli (1955).
